How to Choose Suffolk Wedding Singers

There is a huge choice when it comes to live music. Should you have a big party band in the evening or an acoustic band? Maybe a roaming band or live sax for your drinks reception? Or, you could get an Essex female singer like me that could cover all day!
But, even if you’ve decided you want a wedding singer, Suffolk still has so much choice! So, here are my top tips to help you choose the best wedding singer Suffolk or Essex has to offer…
1. Think about the singers and artists you already like and listen to.
What style of music do you prefer? Do you both love jazz or do you prefer rock music? Do you tend to listen to male or female artists? A lot of singers will specialise in certain styles so if you know what songs you’re hoping for or at least which genres you want the singer to be able to perform then that will help narrow it down a lot. Try searching for terms like ‘Wedding Singer Suffolk’ or ‘Essex Female Singer’ to see who you can find!
2. Decide which parts of your day you want your Wedding Singer to perform.
Do you want your singer to perform at all the main points of your wedding day or just a part of it? For example, your ceremony. Most vocalists offer various packages so you can book them for the parts of the day you want. Most will also offer a full day package. Generally the more you book, the better deal you will get! 3. Watch & Listen to Clips.
This is the fun bit! Go and look at some singers’ websites and social media accounts. Professional singers will have a polished showreel to show to clients. However, it is also really important to hear some live clips so that you know they can recreate that same sound live and that they didn’t have too much help in the studio! If you have looked at their website, see if you can also find their instagram for some more authentic live footage.
I film lots of my performances and try to put as many clips as I can on my Instagram channel so you can hear exactly what I sound like! Some singers might also have some public gigs near you so you could go and hear them in real life & try before you buy!
4. Work out your budget
You need to work out what you can afford. In the same way that you have a budget for your venue hire, cake, dress and every other part of your day, you should have an idea of what you’d like to spend on your singer too.
Some singers will have prices on their website so you can see straight away if they fit within your budget for a wedding singer. Suffolk venues may also offer discounts for weekday weddings or twilight weddings.
5. Book Local!
Try and pick a singer that is reasonably local. This will save you money as you won’t have additional travel costs or accommodation to pay for. It also makes sense as it could avoid late arrivals and traffic problems on the big day. So if you live in Ipswich then look for Wedding Singer Suffolk or even Essex.
Top Tip – When you’re looking for a Wedding Singer, Suffolk is also a place in the USA so just be careful before you send any enquiries!
6. Does your singer offer add-ons?
Look at what your singer can offer. They might offer options to upgrade to a band in the evening which will give you a different feel for your wedding reception. Some might offer a DJ package which could save you a lot of money than if you were to book with another supplier. It could also save you time and effort liaising with another supplier too.
7. Send some enquiries!
Once you’ve found some singers you like then it’s time to fill in their enquiry forms. You need to try and give as much information as possible here so that the singer can provide you with a realistic quote. The enquiry forms will guide you to add the date, the packages you are interested in, the times and the venue. The more details you can give, the better – so don’t leave any blank boxes!
8. Choose an experienced wedding singer.
Pick someone that has lots of experience. I’ve been a wedding and events singer for many years so I can help guide you with music choices and timings on the day. I know what will work and what won’t.
